Started by Maddie & Morgan Manning, the Bundle Up Club is a non-profit organization on a mission to make a difference in the world by providing hand-made blankets, hats, scarves, and other goods to those in need.
Maddie & Morgan want people to know they’re valuable; they want them to feel loved. They want the homeless, the needy, the less-fortunate, the forgotten to know they are worth the investment of their time and effort and work and thoughts and prayers.
It's a cold world outside - let's blanket them in His love.

Mama T's Project Update & Some BIG News!!

We've been busy, busy, busy getting everything taken care of as we close out this year's project to benefit Mama T's - a new homeless shelter opening in our community. We have lots to report! First of all, the blanket party we had on September 24th was a big success, and even though we didn't have the turn out we'd hoped for, we still got a lot accomplished. BIG thanks to everyone who came out and helped us make blankets for the shelter! Also, thank you to those who volunteered to take blankets home to make. Here are some pictures from the party:

A couple of weeks ago, we were notified that we are the recipients of a $1,000 grant! WooHoo!

We will be using this money to help purchase materials for our Mama T's project, as well as to fund next year's which will be for the elderly of our community.

And now for our biggest news of all! Drum roll please...

We met with Dania from Mama T's this week and showed her some of the items we have made/collected for the shelter. As there is a lack of clean, bug-free storage for the items, we have agreed to continue to store them until January, which is when they expect to open. The blankets we made will be used on the beds at the facility! We are so excited to be able to meet this need.

Our original plan was to donate 100 hats, blankets, scarves, pairs of gloves, and pairs of socks to Mama T's, and guess what? We did it!!!! But there's more we can do. In our meeting with Dania, she let us know that they have a need for baby/children's blankets and other items and asked if we would be willing to help more. Of course, we said YES! In addition to what we already have, we would like to make at least 50 baby/children's blankets. We'd also like to donate children's hats, gloves, and socks. That's where YOU come in!

When we receive our grant money, we will purchase fleece for 25 kids' blankets and other children's items to donate. We have already bought enough fleece to make 25 smaller blankets.

We NEED HELP!

We need to have these blankets made and ready to donate in January. We would like to host another blanket party between now and then, but if you could help us before we can get that arranged, we would be forever grateful! We have a lot of work to do and a short time to do it in, but we couldn't say no to the precious children in need in our community. Contact us via email or our Facebook page if you'd like to help!

AdaFest Update and a Blanket Party!

Big thanks to everyone who visited our booth at AdaFest! We had a great time meeting new people and telling them all about The Bundle Up Club, and we enjoyed visiting with faithful friends and supporters. It was really hot out there, but we were still able to sell quite a few baked goods. We also sold a few pieces of Morgan's artwork, as well as some of Maddie's crocheted items. In total, we raised roughly $300 to go toward finishing up our project for Mama T's.

Here are a few pictures from the day:

Special thanks to Charles and Becky Shinault for use of their real estate at Hot Shots Coffee House! Also, a BIG SHOUT out goes to those who sweated it out with us -- Nancy Prater, Rozanna Grove, Emily Ford, Brinley Blankenship, and Daizy Cuevas. We also appreciate Nancy, Rozanna, and Becky helping us with baking.

Our next big work day is right around the corner! We will be hosting a blanket-making party on Saturday, September 24th from 1-5 pm. This is a come and go event, but if you want to stay the whole time, we'll let you! We'll have snacks and drinks and a load of fun chatting, and learning to make blankets. We have a lot of blankets left to make to donate to Mama T's for their grand opening, and we need your help! This is a great way to join with others to serve those less fortunate in our own community. Community service letters will be available upon request.

ADAFEST, Updates, & Opportunities

Greetings!

It's been a while since we updated the blog, so we wanted to share our latest news, updates, and opportunities with you.

As you know, our project for this year is one we're really excited about. We are making hats, scarves, and blankets to donate to a new homeless facility that will be opening in Ada this fall - Mama T's. In addition to providing them with at least 100 blankets, hats, and scarves for their grand opening, we also plan to donate a minimum of 100 pairs of socks and gloves. So far, we have 34 pairs of gloves, 20 hats, 25 scarves, and 96 blankets - of which approximately 75 are unmade.

We have a lot to do to reach our goal, but we know that with your help we can accomplish it! We need help making blankets, hats, scarves. We provide all the materials as well as instruction, so if you'd like to help, please contact us. Also, if you need community service hours, we can hook you up! Those who volunteer with The Bundle Up Club in any capacity can receive a letter to verify community service hours. We are currently planning a blanket making party for September, so stay tuned for details.

Big news!!! Our friends at Hot Shots Coffee House have graciously agreed to let us use their store front for AdaFest again this year!! This is a big event for us, and we are looking forward to raising funds for our current project. We will be selling our famous red velvet cupcakes and lemon cookie cups, a few pieces of pallet art painted by Morgan, some hat and scarf sets and a few owls crocheted by Maddie, BUC t-shirts, and hopefully a few other things. ALL PROCEEDS will go towards the cost of purchase and production of materials for Mama T's Homeless Shelter. We sure hope you'll make your plans to come see us for AdaFest on Saturday, August 27th from 10am-4pm!

Project Updates and Mama T's

It's been a while!

So, we'd like to update you on our final project for 2015 and let you know our plans for 2016. We're so excited, and can't wait to share with you!

Our last project of 2015 was for the OKC Metro House of Hope which is run by Vernon and Marilyn Carter. On November 21st we loaded a U-Haul trailer, and along with our youth group - The Wave from Abba's House Worship Center Church of God - delivered 110 blankets, 123 hats, 104 scarves, 3 ear warmers, and 102 pair of socks. We got there early in the morning, toured the facility, and helped serve breakfast to over 100 people. It was a cold day! We also passed out the hats, blankets, and scarves we made and also gave away socks we purchased to those who wanted them. In all, we handed out about half of the inventory we took there with us. Pastor Carter put the rest in storage to pass out as needed. Here are some pictures from the day:

And now for some super exciting news!! We are proud to announce that our first project for 2016 will be for Mama T's.

Mama T's is a new organization in Ada, OK. They are currently working on raising funds and remodeling a building that will be used as a shelter/center to provide both transitional housing and services for those who are homeless in our community. We're excited to have the opportunity to partner with this group to help others in need in our community.

The shelter is set to open Fall 2016, and our goal is to provide 100-150 hats, scarves, and blankets for their new facility. For more info about Mama T's, you can check out their story here:

or their Facebook page here:

We'll begin raising funds for this project soon, so be on the lookout for details about how you can help!

AdaFest Success and a Tupperware Party

Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who came out to see the Bundle Up Club at Ada Fest! The day was a great success. We made $454 from the bake sale, and with other donations that came in over the weekend, we made a grand total of $793.35 for our fall #helpthehomeless project!!

Also, GREAT BIG thanks to all the ladies who volunteered today and helped make baked goods. We couldn't do this without you and we are so grateful!

To Becky & Charles Shinault and all the other fine folks at Hot Shots Coffee House - thank you so much for letting us use your slice of real estate to further our cause. We appreciate all you do!

Finally, thanks to the nameless band - Caleb Manning, Mitchell Galbreaith, Nathaniel Nipper, Eric Crowell, and Jaron Keith for playing some good music for us today. Congrats on your first gig - you guys did great!

All the funds we raised over the weekend will be used to purchase supplies to make hats, blankets, and scarves for those affected by homelessness in the Oklahoma City, OK area. Now the real work begins! We will be making items to deliver to Pastor Vernon Carter at the OKC Metro House of Hope from now until mid-November. We plan to partner with The Wave youth group from Abba's House Worship Center here in Ada to deliver and help distribute the items made some time between Thanksgiving and Christmas. We'll give you more details about that as we have them.

Our friend Mandy has graciously hosted a Tupperware party to benefit The Bundle Up Club. Forty percent of the profits of this party will be donated to our cause! If you're interested in purchasing some great products as well as supporting a great cause, check it out:

Finally, we could really use some help making hats, blankets, and scarves. We have a limited number of volunteers working and could use more! If you don't know how to knit or crochet, it's okay -- we can teach you how to use a loom, and if you don't know how to make no-sew fleece blankets, we can teach you that, too. It's super easy to learn! We provide all the supplies needed, so all we need is YOU. Please contact via our Facebook page or email if you'd like to volunteer!

Updates, AdaFest, & #helpthehomeless

Greetings, All!

It's been a while since we updated the blog, so we thought we'd let you know what's been going on in our world of late. On Friday, July 24th, we delivered the hats and blankets we made for the children who are patients at the Jimmy Everest Center at OU Medical. With the help of our team and the support of those who donated, we made 65 hats and blankets for our #kidswithcancer project!

Thank you so much for your help on this project! We are grateful we had the opportunity to give a little something to these wonderful kids who fight so hard. It is our prayer that God will bless them and their families, and that each time they bundle up in one of our blankets, they'll remember someone is thinking of them and praying for them!

The Bundle Up Club has been given the opportunity to set up a fundraising booth from 10 am to 4 pm at Hot Shots Coffee House for AdaFest. We'll be selling baked goods and taking donations to raise funds for our fall #helpthehomeless project. Come see us at Hot Shots, and be sure to visit all of the groups and merchants up and down Main Street, donate to the blood drive, enjoy the music and stay for the festival on ECU’s plaza from 5-11 pm. Hope to see you there!

Our #helpthehomeless project is in full swing! This year we'll be donating hats, blankets, and scarves to the Metro House of Hope in Oklahoma City. Our goal is to make at least 100 of each item to give this homeless ministry, and we will travel to OKC some time in November to deliver and help distribute what we have made. If you are interested in working with us on this project, we could use your help! We have plenty of yarn, but are currently in need of fleece for making blankets. Also, we need people to help us make items. We provide the supplies!

If you are interested in helping us any way, please contact us via our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/bundleupclub  or email us at thebundleupclub@gmail.com

If you're interested in giving monetarily, you can send a cash or check, or donate online at gofundme.com/bundleupclub
